HAHAHAHA, ok that's too funny because I just did a post in which I admitted the same reluctance about Henry James. Nice to know I'm not alone.

Toryssa - Okay, yes, it was definitely better than Water for Elephants. I'd reread this before I'd reread that. Not my favorite, however. I actually kept thinking, Dude, this family is Ender's Game, but with three Valentines instead of one.

Imani - Thanks! Strangled Elizabeth indeed. Pfft. I thought it was interesting that Henry James didn't like Robert Browning. That cheers me up, because I've been putting off reading Henry James for many years, and now I have a good reason to. :)

I take care of my blog buddies so my lovely gesture to you is a slightly silly Guardian article in which the writer wonders whether good ol' Robert strangled Elizabeth in her deathbed.

;) No need to thank me!

But, BUT - wasn't it a far better book about circus' than Water for Elephants?!

I really did like the book. Although, in the beginning I had a horrible time getting over the whole moral dilemma of the parents creating their children for their own personal gain. But when I accepted that, I really liked their story. It's one of those that has stuck with me.
