<p>But she may not have known. It&#8217;s not insufficient research in fiction not to know something that hasn&#8217;t got anything to do with the topic you&#8217;re writing on. 					<description><![CDATA[I find it objectionable that Isabel Colegate uses the name of Cornelius Cardew, a fine avant garde composer, for one of her characters. It is, certainly, an interesting name, but this does not merit lifting it for her own purposes. It shows insufficient research and a certain naive-ity. Sadly, because otherwise the book is extremely interesting. I once saw Cardew lecture and he was a very interesting composer and thinker and founder of the idea if the scratch orchestra. Also his family includes the excellent  potter Michael Cardew. I don&#039;t think it is acceptable to simply use someone&#039;s name because you like the sound of it without due respect to the individual concerned.]]></description>
