Hahaha, I’m concerned my chocolate metaphor may not have been the best one to use. But yes it is VERY dark. I hadn’t heard of The Maze Runner – just looked it up on Amazon & it looks interesting! Not out yet (alas!) but I will definitely have to try it when my library gets it.

So long! All the way until next year! And I live in the US. The Ask and the Answer only just yesterday came out here!

I am wondering where he will go in Monsters of Men. Because The Knife of Never Letting Go was pretty dark, but I thought a lot of the plot elements were reasonably typical dystopian things. This business in The Ask and the Answer that has Todd becomes a participant in enslaving the Spackles (and really the women of Haven) and torturing dissidents is – well, just very uncomfortable and difficult to read. More so than a lot of the dystopian fiction I’ve read in the past.
