He's so amazing. But you know, wait for a day when you're up for something quite dark. If you feel like you could hit up Margaret Atwood some day, that'd be a good day to read Patrick Ness. I'm looking forward to seeing what you think!

Hahaha, I'm concerned my chocolate metaphor may not have been the best one to use. But yes it is VERY dark. I hadn't heard of The Maze Runner - just looked it up on Amazon & it looks interesting! Not out yet (alas!) but I will definitely have to try it when my library gets it.

So long! All the way until next year! And I live in the US. The Ask and the Answer only just yesterday came out here!

I am wondering where he will go in Monsters of Men. Because The Knife of Never Letting Go was pretty dark, but I thought a lot of the plot elements were reasonably typical dystopian things. This business in The Ask and the Answer that has Todd becomes a participant in enslaving the Spackles (and really the women of Haven) and torturing dissidents is - well, just very uncomfortable and difficult to read. More so than a lot of the dystopian fiction I've read in the past.
