You’re completely right – I feel pleased because Bosie said he was better than Shelley, better than Auden, etc., but he is now forgotten, and they are not. I wouldn’t care what poets had sold more books than Bosie, if he hadn’t been so superior about poets who were and are clearly better than he was.

Don’t be so harsh about Lord Alfred Douglas. If we judge authors on their financial success do we say that Dan Brown is greater than Wordsworth or that Stephen King is better than Shakespeare. (I don’t compare either it is just a prod!)

Roasted him on a spit and ATE HIM, dude. I mean, ate part of him. And then some people came in and stopped him.

I enjoyed Sports Night quite a lot. It’s not as finished as West Wing, so it doesn’t always hit the emotional beats it’s trying for. I would say Aaron Sorkin is a younger writer when he’s doing Sports Night, and it shows. I’ve only watched two seasons of West Wing so far, but it seems to me Aaron Sorkin re-uses some of his jokes and situations from Sports Night (no judgment – just a comment).

Wow! I learned something new in the post and in the comments. I can’t believe that the mentally disabled Marquess roasted a kitchen boy on a spit. Yikes!

I love West Wing btw, but have never seen Sports Night. Would you recommend it? Does it have the same smart wit?

(In case you are interested, there were two 3rd Marquess of Queensberrys, because the first 3rd Marq. of Q. was mentally disabled; which they didn't mind so much about that, but they found they minded a little when he killed one of the kitchen boys, roasted him on a spit, and started to eat him.) Thanks for the Sports Night Recommendation, btw! I just got through with the second season and really enjoyed it.
