I am late on commenting on the main topic of your post 🙂 Logically, I shouldn’t be, because I am a guy and I also don’t have my ears pierced. But still I am sticking my neck out and saying what I think 🙂 I think you should get the earrings if you like them so much. Maybe you might forget about them after a few days, but if you don’t get them you will be thinking about them all the time. Atleast this is what I would do, if I didn’t get something that I liked so much. On the other hand, piercing your ears is a major thing which you have to think about. If you don’t want to pierce your ears, I think you should stay that way. Who said that one has to wear earrings that one buys? 🙂

It’s possible (just) to fiddle with really long earrings, but not really tempting.

I play with rings, myself, but the earrings are not a problem.

As best I remember, I was around 15 or 16–old enough to remember it.

It’s super easy to slip earrings in and out. I could probably go quite a while without wearing earrings and not worry about them healing over, but I enjoy them, so I’ve never gone more than a few days at a time without, and that’s rare.

The repiercing wasn’t bad. IIRC, one was more painful than the other, and I had more struggles getting earrings into that ear at first, but I’m not sure it was because of the repiercing. (And the problems didn’t last, mostly because I mastered the trick of pulling my earlobe down first, as Memory suggests.)

And FWIW, I have terrible needle fear, but the thing they use to piece ears–at least when I got mine done–isn’t needle-like at all. I don’t even associate pierced ears with needles.

Yes, I think it aired in the UK around January ’09. Watching it I realised that area in London one of the main protagonists lives in is same one I do now; when I read the book previously I had no idea where it was let alone that I would be living there one day!

That’s what I was thinking; I’m the same way… watching other people mess with their contacts still grosses me out, but popping mine in and out doesn’t even make me blink. (Heh, that was terrible, sorry.)

I like nose rings actually, but if I’m nearly too chicken for ear piercings, I know I’d be miles too chicken for any other facial piercings. Nice to hear from someone who never had a problem! 😀

Yeah, I’d probably go to Claire’s because it’s the only place I know to go, even though being there would make me feel like an old lady. :p I think if I had one earring rack of earrings that would be more than enough. I’m just afraid my acquisitive-pack-rat side would kick in if I had pierced ears. :p
