SO. BOOK BLOGOSPHERE. I had this idea and I am curious to see what you think. I frequently discover that I have music tastes in common with people on my blogroll. I am always on the hunt for new music. I love, love, love making and receiving mix CDs. Would anyone have any interest in doing a book bloggers’ mix CD swap? I thought we could do it in the New Year, maybe in late February or early March (for Mardi Gras, perhaps?). My scheme is to set it up rather like Book Blogger Secret Santa (but not secret): you sign up, you get assigned another book blogger for whom to make your mix CDs, and off you go.
What I want to know:
1. Would you be interested in participating, if I did organize this?
2. Should people make one CD, or two? I thought if everyone made one CD of songs that had meant something important in their lives, and one CD of whatever they wanted — a theme-y track list, or a group of songs they think are the best ever, or bookish songs, or don’t-judge-me songs. But would two CDs be overkill? Or should I just leave this to the individual discretion of each participant?
3. When should I do it? I don’t want to be so close to Christmas that it becomes one more damn Christmas thing for people to do. Does early March sound good to people?
4. Any other ideas to make this awesome? Catchy names? Offers to make an adorable button?
In unrelated news, only five days now stand between me and Christmas, and only three between me and my sweet cuddly baby puppy, who I hope remembers me because I think about her constantly. Every time I walk through the dog park on my way to work, I think: “That dog is less cute and clever than my puppy. That dog is also less cute and clever than my puppy. Here is yet a third dog less cute and clever than my puppy. OH PUPPY HOW I MISS YOU.”
