I definitely agree. I have read plenty of very badly-written literary criticism, and The Madwoman in the Attic was most readable and friendly.

I had dismissed Aurora Leigh out of hand as well, but then I got it at a book sale because I had come to love Elizabeth Barrett Browning. And when I read the first few pages of it, I was hooked. The writing is just so lovely.
