I would have totally kicked BOTH your butts at that game! (What’s that game called btw?) Ha! Also, I love how much you love books in boxes. I too am fond of box sets, though I’m not fanatical about having matching editions for an authors books.

I thought that the black magic (and other stuff) is all about the stories that we tell ourselves to make reality endurable. And how sometimes those stories take on a reality of their own: They BECOME real because people’s deep need for them MAKE them real. So it’s both deniable and real..IN A WAY.

I love that you talked about physical books and Night Film together because I thought Night Film was a truly gorgeous specimen of a book. I am so glad I bought a physical copy because it is just so nice.

I haven’t read Night Film (though this podcast really makes me want to), but I want to believe in the Black Magic option. It just sounds like it makes the story more awesome. Black Magic often improves a narrative.
