I loved this book because I sympathize with Neal and see Georgie through his eyes, to some extent. Since I finished reading it (and haven’t had time to write about it), I’ve been wondering if it appeals more to someone of my generation. Especially the stay-at-home spouse. A person can have ambitions that aren’t realized, and that may make it appear (especially to younger people) that the person has no ambitions of his own.

I finished this the other day, and I keep going back and forth on my feelings about it. I don’t know that I get why Georgie and Neal fell in love and he wasn’t really an interesting character for me. He didn’t have any ambitions of his own, and I appreciate that he was able to take a backseat to Georgie’s aspirations and career (instead of the usual opposite situation) I still would have liked him to have SOMETHING of his own. I agree about Seth, though, and about the fact that Georgie’s eyes were finally open to the fact that you can’t just sit back and let a marriage happen – it definitely takes work.

I like your scale of Rainbow Rowell books. I’ve only read Fangirl, but I have this one and E&P and have been trying to decide what to read next. Clearly it should be Landline so that I can end with the amazing that is E&P.

In reply to Chrisbookarama. It SO overstays its welcome. My first year in New York, it snowed constantly from November to April, and I was basically done with snow forever after that. A first snowfall is very lovely and exhilarating; after that, no thank you.
