In reply to Christy. Hahahaha, I mean, my instinct is to say that you should always pick the Courtney Milan book. But you'd run out pretty quickly. She has written a bunch of books but she has not written infinity books.

In reply to Heather. I'm going to go out on a limb here and sad that it will not depress you if you're happy. I can't promise anything, but that is my feeling about the book. And it IS a good book, very much worth reading.

I do feel that lately my reading choices have often internally been struggles between Book A or book by Courtney Milan that I haven’t read yet.

Definitely a good book to read when you’re not sad, or when you’re sad and want to marinate in it. Not so good when you’re trying *not* to be sad. Hope your next read does a better job lifting your spirits!

So, my thinking is, when IS a good time to read this book? Will it depress me if I’m happy? How much sadder will it make it me if I read it melancholy? IS there a perfect time to read a sad book? Egads! I have no idea. Since I am plagued by sadness at weird times as well, I’ll steer clear when I’m feeling that way. Not sure when I’ll read it because of these worries, but I do want to now, as it does sound interesting.
