Have you read any of her books?

There really does need to be better writing regarding transgender people. I remember a light romance that I was reading was really marred in my eyes, because the father of the main character goes on a blind date with a transgender woman, and the date is treated like this hilariously horrifying thing for the father and for the main character. Somewhere the word transvestite is used. And this book was written in the past couple of years.

Also thanks for introducing me to Trevor Noah. I don’t watch much of The Daily Show anymore, so I watched that clip in the article and also some of his stand-up routines on youtube.

I am so intrigued by the new Harper Lee book. A little worried that there may be some shadiness, but still. And that article about expectations is fantastic – part of the reason me and my bf have many conversations about eventually getting married (and how, relationship-wise, nothing changes, it’s just a paper) and part of reason I never believe the weatherman when I hear a big storm is coming. We end up getting like 6 inches. The worst piles of snow are always a surprise.
