I actually appreciate that Lucy was so judgey because I feel that when you’re younger, things are more black and white – either you like or hate the person, and things are more decisive. However, I saw Lucy grow in the way she decided to give Miss Marchmont a try and ends up developing a deep sense of empathy and care for her as a companion. That time-skip between chapters 3 and 4 certainly helped!

I really didn’t have strong feelings about any of the characters, so I’m jealous of the ones you had. Lucy just seemed…bland? And sometimes it frustrates me when terrible things keep happening to a character and they don’t RAGE AT THE HEAVENS even a little bit. Good thing she cried right there at the end. I was beginning to worry.
