I really enjoyed this book, too! I did it on audiobook, and it was so much fun. Definitely are darker moments but mostly fun. I should read more by this author! I think he has several books.

Okay, I’m charmed. At first I was like, “I’ll add this to my library list for future reference, since I can’t read it right away on account of my TBR rules and all the Hugo reading I need to do,” but then I discovered the audio is on Hoopla (this electronic resource thing my library subscribes to) and now I’ve decided I’ll cheat and experience it that way so I can squeeze it in sooner.

Not right away, since I’m in the middle of another audiobook right now and I should probably listen to an audiobook I bought after that, but sooner. Much sooner.

I loved it! I do want to reiterate that it had some dark moments — my mum got it from the library to bring with her to a funeral, and I feel very anxious that I inadvertently gave her a stressful funeral book instead of a cheery one. I should have gotten her the new Penderwicks book!

(Have you read the Penderwicks books? You should, they are delightful.)
