Oh, you should at least be sure to read Belong to Me. It’s very good, I would say even a smidge, a scootch, an eense better than Love Walked In.

But, yes, I vastly prefer authors who seem to feel affection for their people. When an author seems to hate all her characters (ahem JKR Casual Vacancy), I think: Well, why should I try to like them either then?

I don’t know about “much” more, but yeah, I think Belong to Me has the edge for me as well. I just love Piper so much! I think she’s such a wonderful character!
