This sounds interesting. I have no solid opinion about spaceship sci-fi. I can recall only one where the story was set at least partly on spaceships in flight and that is The Forever War, which I liked. (I can think of a couple of others where spaceships landed / crashed.)

OK, let's see. Here's one from last year where Correia kind of summarizes his part in SP 1 and 2 (first very short, then at great length): http://monsterhunternation.com/2014/04/24/an-explanation-about-the-hugo-awards-controversy/
And a more recent one where he tries to explain the difference between SP and RP. http://monsterhunternation.com/2015/04/16/im-not-vox-day/

Here are some interesting Torgersen (I can't believe I spelled it wrong in the other post, how embarrassing since it's the Danish version) posts, in chronological order:
https://bradrtorgersen.wordpress.com/2015/01/16/why-sad-puppies-3-is-going-to-destroy-science-fiction/
https://bradrtorgersen.wordpress.com/2015/04/10/sad-puppies-3-were-they-contacted/
https://bradrtorgersen.wordpress.com/2015/04/16/we-are-not-rabid/
https://bradrtorgersen.wordpress.com/2015/05/13/musings-not-sorted/

I don't know how much you really want, because I can totally waste a day or so reading about kerfuffles that have almost nothing to do with me (ElevatorGate, whee!). But FWIW, here ya go.

In reply to <a href="https://readingtheend.com/2015/08/17/ascension-jacqueline-koyanagi/#comment-27420">Jenny @ Reading the End</a>.

Excellent question! I'll look around a bit and find a few pieces that explain, no, sum up the SP side. The point people and the goal have changed each year, so it's a bit complicated, but this year's pointguy is one Brad Torgerson, whose book of stories "Lights from the Deep" is the only thing I've read by any of these folks and I think you would really enjoy it actually, so give it a spin. There are spaceships AND feelings. Torgerson's blog is very worth peeking at, but he's deployed now and not posting any more, much. His stated goal for SP was "hardly anybody is participating in the Hugos, so let's get lots of people reading and nominating and voting for their favorite stuff. We do not care about what the politics, gender, race, whatever are--just post your favorite SF." The result was a very diverse list that was promptly labeled as entirely sexist white males (though a simple glance at the names on it would prove otherwise). One poor woman--an avowed socialist leftist bisexual--was so harassed and hounded for having written fiction that a lot of people nominated that she bowed out.

Other big names in the SP world are Larry Correia, the founder, Sarah Hoyt, and John Wright. Then there is the Rabid Puppies, not to be confused with the Sad Puppies, it's two different things. RP is headed by one Vox Day, who is kind of the Howard Stern of SF bloggerdom. He loves saying shocking things and enraging people, and the more angry you get the happier he is. He is often labeled a white supremacist despite the part where he's Native American. Anyway, people tend to lump them together but they are very different.

I'm a little too fuzzy on the SP1 and 2 things to summarize without reading up on it. And I'm working for a large chunk of today, but I'll find you some stuff.
