I used to wait for my grandfather to take a bathroom break so that I could go plonk myself in that chair of his. Of course when he came back, I would pretend not to see him. They are actually very comfy even without any extra pillows. Sort of like lounging on a hammock. I don’t see them much nowadays. 🙁

OMG. Is that what these chairs are called there? We call them grandfather chairs (or at least that’s what I called them) as they are perfect for grandads with stiff backs for lounging 🙂

OK, so I read the comments below, it is apparently called a planter’s chair :). We used to have a couple of these when I was a kid, was an antique piece even then. Horridly uncomfortable without any pillows added. Nothing like a Lazyboy, I say!

That chair is HILARIOUS and I would love to see you sitting in it as if it was a normal chair and then swing out those leg rests and just look super smug at all of the other people sitting with their legs down, like chumps. (You are at a party, possibly playing charades, when this happens.)

I had never heard of these, but now I want one! Totally pointless for England really, because no space and rain, but still. I say find out how much it costs, because if cheap yay if expensive saving goals.
