I watched the first episode this evening, and yeah, I wish Trish hadn’t said that. Looking after yourself/prioritising your safety is a legitimate choice, and I have too many painful memories of genuinely kind, well-meaning people saying things that imply otherwise. HOWEVER, I trust your judgement re: Trish and am happy to let that go and embrace her awesomeness.

The “say it with me – none of this is your fault” scene made me cry, and then the ending killed me dead D:

See, she has a point, though. I mean, Trish is not any LESS able than Jessica to deal with Kilgrave. That’s one thing I love–Jessica has superpowers, but they don’t actually help at all with the particular problem she’s trying to deal with. They help with a lot of peripheral stuff–opening locked doors and keeping thugs off her case–but her vs. Kilgrave is about wits and guts and heart, and she and Trish are very different but fairly equal on those scales.

True! I think they are letting her be something more than just the side-kick which is awesome. I’m sure I’ll warm up to Trish eventually 😀

Oh, that’s very fair. I’ll keep you posted on all the events of Jessica Jones. I want to post two a week if I can, but that may be overambitious based on how exhausted I am this week (I think I’m fighting off a bug).

Oh my gosh, I so sympathize with this. I have this problem very, very often with TV shows.
