I read the “Catholic” comment differently. I noticed a Tiffany blue box that Jeri handed Pam and I thought she was saying she wouldn’t say yes to a marriage proposal until the divorce. I definitely think they are having sexy time.

I mean, sex as weapon is obviously not cool if real-life people do it. However, if Pam is Anne Boleynily withholding sex this whole time, it just makes the whole Jeri-Pam storyline make more sense to me. And also it makes me respect Pam more as a character. That is an upper-level power play. Anne Boleyn deployed it to great effect. 😀

I was mad at Robin Weigert for giving Jessica a prescription for an antipsychotic as, like, a snarky comeback. Those drugs are serious poisonous chemistry, Robin “Catherine of Aragon” Weigert! Get a grip!

I didn’t mind the rape as backstory although that’s usually a big no for me. I was actually really impressed with how the story took Jessica’s (and Hope’s!) trauma seriously and did not make it at all a voyeuristic thing, AND how they never included a rape scene, but ONLY dealt with the aftermath and how it continued to affect these characters.

Oh I believe we’d all like to do that. What a gross line. I want to go back in time and dissuade the writers from including it. Ew. Who would say that? Ew.

It’s a small moment in the first episode, and I don’t think it comes up again. Jessica sees a heavy woman get off the treadmill and eat a burger, and she makes some comment about it. It’s not germane to anything else in the plot, AND it’s a really predictable and boring bit of snark, and it irritated me.

I HATE ROBYN. I felt like I was at all points completely missing what they wanted to do with those characters.

Well, I did too, but I still didn’t think her storyline made sense. If she’s withholding sex this entire time, everything makes SO MUCH SENSE.
