Hmm...I haven't actually read that many books about missing siblings. But movies? Yes, especially Indian movies, quite a number of them are all about the separated siblings, and yes, even missing parents. So over that plot point now.

But the way I see The Raven Kings creep into all your other reviews, I think that is the series I need to pick up next.

Heh that has me wondering, too, for I have such a boringly normal relationship with my brother! We are.neither epically close nor melodramatically estranged. You see, I can write a book :D
I am always looking for more African lit and usually end up reading mostly Nigerian lit, but ha this year I've already read two from.Zimbabwe, so yay I get to read this one without showing any favors.

In reply to <a href="https://readingtheend.com/2016/04/29/many-days-jowhor-ile/#comment-29313">Jenny @ Reading the End</a>.

Ah, yeah, I was also thinking that maybe as someone who is functionally an only child, I might not read as many sibling-focused books, or they may not stick with me as much? (I have two half-siblings and three step-siblings, but they're all a bit older and we didn't grow up in the same household/are not close - indeed, I've never even MET one of my step-siblings despite the fact that his dad and my mom have been married for 16 years now).

All over the place! Really all over the place! It seems like because I never EVER want to encounter a missing sibling, I encounter them super-always.

Ha, I wouldn't know. I'm one of four girls, and we're all fairly responsible, I think.

If you ever and I mean EVER need recs for African authors, please apply to me. I try to read more and more African authors every passing year, and it's working out pretty well so far. :D

Indeed? I truly can think of so many missing sibling books without even trying. Some of them I've managed to get through (mostly if it's missing brothers I am okay), and others I've had to abandon.

God, I feel like I've read infinity missing siblings books. But it may be that because I'm quite sensitive to missing siblings (I LOVE MY SIBLINGS), I'm detecting a massive pattern of missing-siblings books. And maybe it isn't quite as pervasive as I'm feeling it is?

Also, YES. Huge yes to Where'd You Go Bernadette. Great point. Totally missing, totally mother.

It's good! And Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie also supports it, so that's another vote of confidence in this book. I hope you'll like it!
