Lots of interesting links to check out, thank you! And Stephen Fry, I am VERY disappointed in you.

Did you watch Eurovision? I did not bother, but I did look up the Belorussian entry on YouTube because we were promised nudity! And live wolves! (Was a bit worried about the poor wolves being stressed.) And THAT was disappointing too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pM07r57QqGg

I have no idea how Skyrim works and I still don't but that twitter story was entertaining anyway. :) The Kirkus piece was very thought-provoking. From what that article says, it sounds like always identifying race is particularly useful for choosing children's books. I want to fight against the assumption of white-as-default as well, but not sure what that would look like for my own blog. One thing I started thinking about this year: I sometimes quote from other blog reviews at the end of my own reviews. After reviewing a book that was explicitly about racial identity, I realized that my usual way for finding others' reviews was going to result in quoting from all white bloggers, and that didn't seem right especially considering the books' topic. So I went looking for a review from a person of color to quote. I did find several. But now, I wonder if I should make sure I'm looking for diverse bloggers to quote for every book in the future, not just those about race. Anyway, long tangential comment - thanks for linking to that article!
