Ok, but I’m pretty sure the point there was like “haha we are dispelling old beliefs about magic being real, etc, so you will show how it is all tricks and illusions!” For Soviet reasons.

Also the whole thing kind of reminded me of the Quidditch World Cup. You know what I mean.

I have not understood a single bit of satire so far. I mean, I BELIEVE it’s there, and I’m sure it’s genius and really showing people the truth and whatnot but nope. Nothing.

I had not associated the magic show part with Arrested Development, but now it is inescapable. The one with the knife in his teeth! Magnificent!
