Some of my favorite books are the ones that have surprised me by how hard the hit me, but I have a tough time making myself pick up something I know will be really emotional.

Not sure I will read this. I am not prepared right now to feel gutted and after your review I am sure that will be the result of the book. Even if I never read it though, I am glad it exists, especially since I just got a few surprises from someone at work I thought to be a bit more, shall we say open, about LGBTQ issues.
