Hahaha. You may not be SAYING “Nawlins” but that’s what it sounds like to those of us from outside the region. It’s cool. I mean, those of us from Maryland think we’re saying Maryland the way everyone else does when really we’re saying “Mare-lin.”

I love seeing great, realistic portrayals of siblings in books. I’ll have to look for this one.

It sounds nice to read about a family that actual like their siblings. What would that have been like growing up? I’ll never know, but now I really want to read this. Great review!

I too get emotional about virtually nothing. But that’s ok. It means we care, right? And I’m always here if you’d like to just vent (there’s a pretty good chance I’ll be up despite time zone differences, too, given how my nights are going lately). *hugs*

And also, you made me want to look up this book, which does not happen all that often anymore.

Ooh, interesting! I admit that I didn’t really like the lives of the Asian super-rich portrayed in… the aptly named Crazy Rich Asians. And its sequel. It felt really exhausting and gross to read. This one maybe feels better as it is a family that really likes each other.

I agree on siblings! And their portrayal in books being not so great.

I also tear up a lot for random things now. Like tearing up over hearing that you tear up!

I’ve heard so many good things about this book I put it on my virtual TBR list. Will have to make an effort to not let it linger there forever. My mom says crawdads but she is from Oklahoma. Don’t you love it when people try to capture the local accent and vocabulary but have no true idea about it?
