Have you read Drood by Dan Simmons? It's fiction based on some facts and it's about the Wilkie's friendship with Charles Dickens. Pretty spooky stuff. and I didn't like where it went with Wilkie's character, but it was fun nevertheless.

I've only just found out about this read-along and biography, but I think it's time for me to read some more Wilkie Collins. I haven't read anything of his since Armadale, which I loved, about a year ago. And have you read Mary Elizabeth Braddon? She is the queen of the coincidences and secret marriages.

But for reals, thanks for jumping in even though the postal service postponed your start date, and for reading this inscrutable and wandering biography.

To my shame, I have never given any author's life much thought. I feel like I did know how methodical he was though in pretty much everything he did. I don't know why I seem to have known this, but I am going to go with it. Also, now he will forever be Milky Collins.
